High Marks for Young Women’s Leadership Schools! |
|||
|
The Young Women’s Leadership Schools (TYWLS) of East Harlem & Queens both received an “A” on the NYC Department of Education’s Progress Report Cards (featured in The New York Post on 11.07.07). As part of this recognition, Schools Chancellor Joel Klein Schools awarded additional discretionary funds of approximately $30 per student. Fewer than 10% of schools Citywide qualified for excellence rewards. Our newest school in Astoria was too new to be rated, however they received top marks on the May 2007 Learning Environment Survey. This survey allows parents and teachers to rate schools on how well they support student learning, growth and development. Additionally, The Young Women’s Leadership School at Rhodes (Philadelphia) met their AYP (Annual Yearly Performance) evaluation in 2007. The school met 13 out of 13 AYP targets in 2006-0 and is on track to meet the goal of all students reaching proficiency. TYWLS, Philadelphia had its first graduating class in June 2007. |
